More Mountain Biking!!!!
UPDATE: Due to a family event, I have to reschedule this to March 6th. Sorry for the change. This will be the weekend AFTER the Cooking Campout.
We will still meet at Deer Ridge Park (located off of the south end of Woodland Hills, but not all the way to the end). There, we can practice some skills and check all the bikes out. Then we'll ride 2 miles (or more) of some local singletrack to test your skills. The trails are in Deer Ridge park, and there are a couple more we can explore nearby.
Plan on meeting there at 1-1:15 pm and being complete by 3:15 pm. Adults are welcome to ride as well! Bring your bike, a HELMET, water, and anything else you think you need. Dress appropriately. We will ride unless it's raining or if it rained a lot in the prior few days. That means cold weather riding possibly, so bring layers if it's cold that day.
I understand there is lots of interest in doing more mountain biking in our Troop, thanks to Mr. Wright's awesome trek through the woods at Double Lake. I would like to continue learning and riding with the troop and working on the merit badge for those interested. If you are interested, let's plan on riding on Saturday afternoon February 20th. That is after winter break for the Humble ISD people and before our February campout.

Summer Camp Signup NowWe are taking signups for summer camp at Hale Scout Reservation. Let Mr McDonald know if you would like to attend. It costs $370 per scout and $330 per Adult. This includes camp costs and transportation.
Camp Hale - June 20 to 26
Sea Base - July 28 to August 3
National Average: 5-6%
We have 54 Scouts of all ranks, as well as an equal number of adult leaders and participants. The smaller size of our troop allows for individual attention to each boy's advancement.
We became a Troop in 2003, chartered through Saint Martha Catholic Church in Kingwood, Texas. Our name was Troop 727 in Kingwood. We are the best Troop for Boy Scouts in Kingwood and Boy Scouts in Houston!
We go on monthly campouts, as well as an annual summer camp. There are also many activities and fundraisers occurring throughout the year. We are the troop that puts out the flags in your neighborhood on patriotic holidays! Older Scouts attend high adventure camps each summer. We meet every Tuesday night at 7:30 in the Youth Center at Saint Martha Catholic School.
We welcome you to visit our weekly meetings Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Please call Mike McDonald at 832-995-9534 to schedule a visit.
